March 2021 Wrap-Up

6 min read

I find March to be one of the most stressful months of the year – there are always so many ARCs and fantastic books coming out. Work and home wise there was so much going on too! Somehow I still ended up reading a bunch. Ariel and I hope you find some good recommendations as always. 🙂

Kriti’s Selection

Last month I said I was into audiobooks and this month I was not. I changed up a few things like my posting schedules for Instagram and am really liking not reading 4 books at a time, though that I back again haha. Here is my wrap up for the month:

Summary:

Number of library books: 4/11
Review copies: 7/11
Buddy Reads: 1/11
Owned Books: 1/11

What an exhausting month! I am glad I read a bunch for pleasure but there was so much reading for deadlines with the review copies that I am debating putting a stop to that. Again. You all know how that works, or doesn’t.

I enjoyed a slow paced month and it is always encouraging to see that even if I don’t feel like I am doing a lot of reading, I am still reading a lot. My brain likes looking at these wrap ups and telling the anxious side of my brain that we made good progress. I am glad that Ariel and I continued our buddy reading inspite of all the mayhem in my life.

I am looking forward to a more relaxed April though towards the end of the month, we will be moving and I will be redoing my library and shelves. I’d Rather Be Reading gave me some amazing ideas.

Ariel’s Selection for March 2021

This month, I participated in the Tropical Readathon, and was excited to track my progress while following the various prompts. I really tried to focus and be intentional about reading books that have been on my Goodreads TBR for awhile. This included graphic novels such as Snapdragon, or poetry collections such as When I Grow Up I Want to Be a List of Further Possibilities. With my local library opening up curbside services, I have been able to pick up some graphic novels that I was really happy to read and experience. One of my favorite books this month was coordinated with Kriti and my Horror-A-Month challenge; Into the Drowning Deep. This book was a great tale about sirens and the unexplored deep sea, both things I love!

General Stats:
Books: 15
Audiobooks: 4
Buddy reads: 1
Netgalley: 3

Summary:

This month was a productive month in looking at my TBR and selecting items that have been on there the longest and requesting those from the library. I want to continue doing that for April, and maybe take my 191 books TBR into the range of 185! In a month, we’ll see how that goes. I also want to really work on my Netgalley arcs as well. I have 15 books waiting for me to read and give feedback, so I’m hoping to drop that to 10. Between those two goals, I know April will be a busy reading month!
