#ARMEDWITHABINGO Quarterly Check-in

3 min read

Hi everyone! The beginning of 2020 has flown by so fast. It is almost time for the #ArmedWithABingo quarterly check-in! This post will tell you everything you need to know about the check-ins and giveaways. Woho!

Q1. When does the quarterly check in take place?

Here are all the dates:

March 22-27

June 22-27

September 20-27

December 2-7

Q2. How does the quarterly check in work?

All you have to do is share your #ArmedWithABingo board with us!

Tell us:

  • which prompts you have completed so far and
  • the book/prompt you have enjoyed the most.

You can do this via email. If you prefer social media, please TAG one or both of us.

If you have completely finished your bingo board challenge, we will put in an entry for you for the remaining check-in giveaways and you will not need to check in with us after that.

Q3. What about the giveaways?

Each quarter will see 2-4 book giveaways. The one at the end of the year will also have our Mega book giveaway where Ariel and I will send someone a book of their choice each.

Kriti will be hosting each of the authors part of the giveaway on her blog so that you can learn more about them and their books. So be sure to check Armed with A Book on the following dates:

Quarter 1: March 18-21

Quarter 2: June 24 and 25

Quarter 3: September 22-23

Quarter 4: November 27-30

You can find the list of potential books here.

Q4. How will winners be decided and contacted?

On the day after the quarterly check in ends (for example, March 28th for Quarter 1), we will use a random number generator to draw the name of the four winners. The announcements for the winners will occur over the span of 4 days. The winner for the first drawing will have 24 hours to claim their title of choice. Then, the next winner will be contacted the following day to choose out of the three remaining titles, and so on.

Q5. What if I win?

Once you confirm the book you would like, we will get you in touch with the author. You can iron out the details about file format/mailing address with them then.

Q6. Can I just send you my bingo card right now while I am thinking about it?

Please wait until the start of the quarterly check in period. There are over 170 participants in #ArmedWithABingo and to make this fair and less work on the two of us, we would really appreciate emails/tags only in the time period we have specified.

Q7. If I forget to check in one month, does that disqualify me?

Nope! You’re welcome to continue to participate in #ArmedWithABingo, and are welcome to check in next time.

Q8. If I win, do I get to enter in future drawings?

If you win, you will automatically be given an entry into the final drawing (where Ariel & I each send out a book of the winner’s choice), but we are going to seek out different winners for each drawing.

Q9. You mentioned earlier that I will be able to change prompts during the check-in. How does that work?

While sharing your bingo card during the check-in week, let us know which prompt you would like to change and what it should be changed to. We will update the bingo card and send it to you.

Last fun little thing: Jerusha has started a Twitter thread of herself reading a book to give you some ideas for the ‘book you saw someone else reading!’ If you are interested, do add to her thread! Let’s take a look at the books our community is reading! 🙂

If you have any other questions, please let us know in the comments! Looking forward to hearing from you at the end of March!

AND: March 15th is the last day to sign up for #ArmedWithABingo so if you have any friends and family who still haven’t signed up, there are some days left! 😀
