Almost every reviewer I know has a stack of review copies that they haven’t gotten to in a while. I will be honest – there is always something more exciting going on or we are too tired to read for review. I started off 2020 with a good bunch of these books and a plan to tackle a couple each month. But life didn’t turn out that way and now I am a couple books behind schedule. While working on my Wyrd And Wonder TBR which starts tomorrow, I realized I had to do something to bring the excitement of the review copies back. This is why I present to you #ReviewReads for June 2020.
Co-hosted with Jorie from Jorie Loves A Story, we will be giving each other company in putting a dent in our TBR and we would like to invite you to join us!
What is #ReviewReads?
#ReviewReads is a month of celebrating review copies that we have received from authors, publicits, publishers, online review services like NetGalley and BookSirens and/or whilst participating on blog tours. I’ll be focusing mostly on books from authors which invoked curiosity in me but over time, I have forgotten what drew me to them. To keep my promise of reviewing these books, I am keeping June as the month to catch up on some of them. My friends Jorie and Alex are facing something similar and we will be each other’s cheerleaders in reading to help the authors and writing community.
How will it work?
For the month of June, participants in #ReviewReads will pledge some number of books that they are planning to review from their requests. You can pledge to read 1 book if that would be good number for you to get started, or you can pledge to read more (Jorie is aiming for 9 while I am thinking of 7). If you read more than your pledge, even better! The whole point of #ReviewReads is we (Jorie and I) will cheer you on and support your reading of ARCs and review copies which often take the back burner.
How will we support you on #ReviewReads if you choose to take part?
Once you sign up, we ask that you tweet the books you are reading with #ReviewReads.
- If you are posting a review/author interview on your blog/Instagram, we will be sure to hop on there and leave comments.
- Reviews on Goodreads and other platforms like LibraryThings and Litsy count too! So, if we are active on them, we will read them too.
- We will be creating a list of readers on Twitter so you can check out what else the community in reading.
- At the end of every week, we will give a shout out to the wonderful members who have making their way through their ARC pledge.
Even one review copy counts and we hope this little exercise will help you make a dent, even a little one, in that stressful side of the TBR. This will also help others get to know some books that you might be enjoying as well as spread the word about your blog.
Would you like to join me and Jorie for #ReviewReads this June? Let’s finish up some of those review copies together! And don’t forget to get in the mood by writing up a #ReviewReads TBR tweet/blog post for your picks for the month. Drop the link below in the comments when you are done or find me and Jorie on social media. Flaunt that Review Reads logo. We will look forward to discovering new books with you! You can use the form below or visit it at this link.

Interesting idea! I’ve just signed up for NetGalley and hopefully I can get it running by June-time. However I am incredibly conscious of the lack of space on my bookshelf haha. Take care ☺️
Haha NetGalley will help with that because it only takes space on devices 😉 Sign ups will be open a while so I hope you will join us! Check out the Read Now section on NetGalley for some instant titles! I think Kingdom of Liars is on there right now if you like fantasy.
Thank you Kriti – I appreciate it 🙈
