Welcome to the November wrap up! How did your month go? Before we dive in, I have some news. The wrap up is changing and we are looking for inspiration. If you have ideas of what you would like to see in our monthly check ins, let us know in the comments or any way you want to reach us. 🙂
Kriti’s November Book Selection
Most months are full of standalone books, some have 1-2 books over 500 pagers. I took on a new challenge at the end of October to reread the Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini. Eragon was a great start to the series and in November, I spent 20 days reading the second and third books of the series, Eldest and Brisingr.
In between these tombs of 700+ pages, I read Blood Sisters, a contemporary mystery set in an indigenous community in Oklahoma and All it Takes is a Goal, the latest book by my favoirte Jon Acuff. I also read a post-apocalyptic science fiction novella, A Mirage in the Memory, that I am excited to share about later this month!
Total TBR: 409 (Nov 1) -> 435 (Dec 1)
Rereads don’t really put a dent on the TBR, only encourage it to look bigger. I found many amazing books to add to my growing list this November. Here are three I am looking forward to the most:
Family of Liars by E. Lockhart
Goodreads
I want to reread We Were Liars (Goodreads) and this prequel will surely help me get there.
Tess of the Road by Rachel Hartman
Goodreads
I am into collecting dragons books right now and this is the latest addition to my home library thanks to Molly Templeton’s recommendation in her column Mark as Read on Tor.
Feel Good Productivity by Ali Abdaal
Goodreads
A recent review copy that I am excited to dive into. You know me and productivity and lists…Â
The Ghosts of Beatrice Bird by Louisa Morgan
Goodreads
A horror novel that I got a review copy for! Thanks Orbit!
Just for fun, last Dec 1, I was at 294 books on the TBR pile. Talk about a 48% increase over the course of a year…
Writing & Blogging
Updates on TBP (to be posted – reviews that I have written but not yet published to the blog) and TBW (to be written – books I have read but not yet noted down my thoughts about).
TBP:Â 23 (Nov) -> 15 (Dec)
TBW: 8 (Nov) -> 10 (Dec)
It was a month of amazing writing! I planned out and worked on a new series called TBR Tales that launches this month. Mark your calendar – Dec 15th is the first article.
I had an amazing month of writing for Taylor Swift Bookish November. I paired books with a prompt and a Taylor Swift Song. Though I did a lot of the photography and graphics in advance, I returned to write my captions daily. The following four resonated with lots of readers. Reviews of books released in the last 2 months: The Hexologists, Blood Sisters, The Star And The Strange Moon, Foxfire, The Way I Am Now, Act Like A Lady, Think Like A Lord, Midnight At The Houdini. I wrote the first four reviews in November itself.

Huge thank you to all the publishers and publicists who reached out to me to feature these books and connected me with the authors.
Bookish Compilation: The Transformative Power Of 5 Creativity Books
Old favorites I finally got around to posting: Tomorrow, And Tomorrow, And Tomorrow, The Creative Act: A Way Of Being (Non-Fiction feature of the month)
I told you last wrap up you were going to be pampered in Nov. I definitely felt pampered returning to my blog for these amazing reasons to share with you. 🙂
The Noteworthy: A random collection of findings
- Have you watched Hell’s Kitchen? Clinton and I love this show and are currently enjoying season 5. Though we do one season a year, we could not help starting 5 when we finished 4.
- I went to a hyprov show where a hypnotist and improviser collaborated with some hypnotised people to give us 2 hours of entertainment. Highly recommend the works of World Renowned Hypnotist, Asad Mecci, and Colin Mochrie.
- Ben Sibley is Compete Themes Founder whose theme, Tracks, I am using and adore. If you have a wordpress site, check out this insightful article on 11 Ways to Prevent Errors on Your WordPress Website.
Ariel’s November
November flew by, and in the swirl of stress and constant movement, I was really thankful for the reads of the month. For the second month in a row, I read a horror anthology. I also read through a duology on Netgalley, so even though my reading numbers were lower, I feel quite accomplished! It was also a highlight of my month to chat with Kriti for an afternoon and brainstorm our bookish goals for 2024 since it’s just around the corner!
