May 2021 Wrap-Up

3 min read

May 2021 was a busy and exciting month for us. I can’t believe we are in the 6th month of this year already. So much is happening around the world – some good and some bad – and I hope that wherever you are, you are staying safe and well.

Kriti’s Selection

I started off May with a lot of energy and excitement but all that fizzled out as time passed. With finally being settled in the house and nothing pressing to attend to, all the stress I had been keeping at bay arrived to be tackled, which means, most evenings, I didn’t bother reading for very long. All that I read though I really enjoyed! As the month passed, I reevaluated my system of reading and sharing about books on here and Instagram and I came to the conclusion that I just want to enjoy reading for a little bit, not worry about creating content. Here’s a look at what I ended up completing:

Number of library books: 2/11
Review copies: 7/11
Buddy Reads/ Book Club: 3/11
Owned Books: 2/11
Audiobooks: 1/11

Historical Fiction Buddy Reads:

  • Letters Across The Sea by Genevieve Graham – Review on Goodreads. Full review in the coming weeks. Staged on Instagram.

  • The Coming Storm by Regina Hansen – Young Adult, Folklore Fantasy – Review on Armed with A Book and Instagram.

It’s summer and I have decided to intentionally take some time away from the blog. I won’t be posting much this month but I’m still around so please do reach out on Instagram or Twitter if you want to chat books or just say hi. 🙂 My plan is to do lots of reading this June, write up content for July and August and just see where time leads me. I have been working on my digital art and really enjoy making fan art inspired by books and I look forward to sharing that with you at some point!

Unexpected finds:

TBR This Month: 180 (to be compared with next month)
Netgalleys this Month: 4
Library books this Month: 11

Summary

I had so much going on in May, it honestly felt like a blur. Due to life changes, I’ll probably be reading at a slower pace, but I’m excited to keep whittling down my TBR!
