Lu and Ren’s Guide to Geozoology by Angela Hsieh | Goodreads

Sometimes, I find myself in the mood for a light Middle-Grade graphic novel, and this was no exception. The art is so cute, and I loved all the giant animals that the main characters befriend. Totally adorable and I can’t wait to buy a physical copy once it’s published!

Noteworthy

Our Hideous Progeny by C.E. McGill | Goodreads

This book takes place in the Frankenstien universe, decades after Dr. Frankenstein created his monster. This book follows Dr. Frankenstein’s great niece who is a palaeontologist fighting in academia to be relevant and fighting against the sexism she faces. I loved the Victorian academic approaches to animals and fossils, and overall this was a cool premise that fully delivered!

Game

Split Fiction – A long-anticipated release came out in March called Split Fiction, a fun and exciting co-op story where two authors (one sci-fi, the other fantasy) must work together to escape a machine that is bringing their stories to life!

A Curse for the Homesick by Laura Brooke Robson | Goodreads

A unique love story set in the backdrop of a curse. “On Stenland, there comes a time known as skeld season: one day, any woman on the island can wake with three black lines on her forehead, the mark of a skeld. Skeld season comes around without warning, and while each window of time lasts only three months, anyone a skeld turns to stone is very much dead.” This is the story of Tess, her love for Soren, whose parents are killed by her mother, and the love-hate relationship she has with her country of birth. Beautifully written, I am excited to finish my review of this book. It will feature lots of quotes.

Noteworthy

The Memory Collectors by Dete Meserve | Goodreads

I love time travel and this upcoming book has technology that lets people go back in time for an hour. The day they arrive on is unknown and the future is of course, unchangeable. But something is wrong when four people find themselves back in time a few days before a horrible incident that has changed their lives forever. Based on what they know would happen, can they do better this time? This is a fascinating story!
