This month has been an eventful one for me. I signed up to read lots of Fantasy books as part of Wyrd And Wonder. My enthusiasm spilled a bit into the book-nook channel on WriteHive Discord and we decided to celebrate Fantasy May in our own way – with live readings and book discussions. In this post, I’m going to give a shout out to all the wonderful books that people shared on the book-nook channel, and Fantasy books I read this month.

Fantasy May – Books I read
My original plan had been to read the following as part of Wyrd And Wonder:
- Erynn and I devoured Strange the Dreamer and Muse of Nightmares. You can check out our discussion for Strange the Dreamer here and keep an eye out for Muse of Nightmares next week.
- I finished The Chaos Circus yesterday. Review and interview with Renee Dugan out in June.
- Stealing Thunder was a bitter-sweet book which reminded me of home. Full thoughts here.
- The Four Profound Weaves was an interesting Fantasy novella that introduced me to the Birdverse.
- The Gatewatch was a fun read with tons of mythology. Check my review and interview with Josh.
Apart from these Fantasy books, books that were not on the TBR but got read:
- I read Catalyst for The WriteReads blog tour next month.
- Ariel and I finished reading Woven In Moonlight. Our discussion will be up tomorrow.
What I did not get to in Fantasy May:
- Alex and I decided to keep The City of Brass for another time and tackle our review requests stress first. June is our Review Reads month and you can pledge some books too!
- I could not make time for The Jealousy of Jalice this month but I have heard great things about it and hope to soon!
We are all geared up to celebrate Sci-Fi June next and are planning to do some readalongs for diverse books in July. You are welcome to join us in our Discord community!
The Fantasy May celebration was so exciting! I’m disappointed that I didn’t have a lot of time to participate in the book nook discussions but I’ve picked up so many more books to read. 😂😂
