Prompt: Short Stories/Anthology
Book Name:  Wild Tongues Can’t Be Tamed Ed. by Saraciea J. Fennell | Goodreads
Quick review: An anthology I had on my radar for awhile, but I’m thankful to complete the book with this challenge! A powerful collection of essays, poems, and stories about the Latinx experience and the diversity, intersectionality, and nuances found within.

Prompt: A Book of Your Choice
Book Name: Hijab Butch Blues  by Lamya H. | Goodreads
Quick review: A beautiful memoir of what the author’s experience is as a queer Muslim. In between anecdotes of the author’s life, she writes how the Quran and her faith has helped her grapple with the more difficult parts of navigating her identity and protecting her space.

Prompt: First Book in a Series
Book Name: The Water Outlaws by S.L. Huang | Goodreads
Quick review: a slow-paced read that is a historical fantasy that focuses on martial arts and challenging the patriarchy. The characters were well thought out and each POV created a fully dimensional story that came to a satisfying conclusion with hints for more.

Kriti’s Backlist Bingo Update

I had started Love Like a Cephalopod by Cassondra Windwalker (Goodreads) and still haven’t finished it yet so my board is unchanged:
