This month’s #ArmedWithABingo feature is my book blogger friend, Leah.
How’s reading going this year?
It’s going well. I’ve read a bunch of really great books that I absolutely loved, and it’s only March! I also finally got around to reading books that have been suggested to me and sat on my TBR list for months and months.
What made you join #ArmedWithABingo?
I actually joined for a couple of reasons. The first reason was that I liked the fact that it would challenge me to read outside my comfort zone and try some different genres that I may not normally read. The second reason was that I had decided to join some reading challenges in 2020 to keep things fresh. The third reason was that I just really like bingo.
When you first looked at your board, was there a prompt that you were super excited to start first or one that terrified you in some way?
I was obviously excited to read the books fitting prompts that would be easy for me (lol), like a book published in 2020, a YA novel, and a fantasy book. I was significantly less excited to read a book of poetry and nonfiction, since those are two genres that I don’t generally enjoy.
How far along on the board are you at the moment?
I’ve made so much progress with my board – I’ve checked off 22 boxes and only have three to go!
I have written reviews for the following prompts:
- A young adult novel – We Set the Dark on Fire by Tehlor Kay Mejia (Link)
- A memoir – Night by Elie Wiesel (Link)
- A book by an indie author – Pan by Gina L. Maxwell (Link)
- A book with a color in its name – Get a Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert (Link)
Apart from #ArmedWithABingo, are you taking part in any other challenges?
At the moment, I’m not. I did another Bingo challenge in January, a readathon in February, and I’m planning to do another challenge in April. So far, each has been a positive experience for me.
Apart from an avid reader, what are your other interests?
I love cooking, and finding recipes from different cultures. I also enjoy crocheting and making gifts for other people. I’m a huge dog lover, and have a bunch of chihuahuas that I dote on. They’re obviously spoiled rotten.
