Hello and welcome to September’s Wrap Up post! We started doing the wrap ups back in October 2020 and this post marks the 12th in the monthly wrap up series. 🙂 Let’s give you a quick round up of our reads this past month!
Kriti’s Selection
It’s my birthday tomorrow and I will be sharing a full year reflection in my very special post. So, this one is going to be short. Stay tuned for tomorrow’s post for details about how the year went for me, what my goals are for Armed with A Book for the next October – September cycle and much more!
Number of library books: 1/8
Review copies: 6/8
Buddy Reads/ Book Club: 2/8
Books:
- Bewilderment by Richard Powers – Fiction – I loved this book. Do check out the review here and on Instagram.
- What passes as love by Trisha R. Thomas – Historical Fiction – This was a thoughtful read about identity and appearances. See detailed review on Armed with A Book and short review and staging on Instagram.
- Blue-skinned gods by S.J. Sidhu – Literary Fiction / Fantasy – A book about a god reincarnate and what happens when a child grows up thinking he is a god amongst humans. An amazing book that I will be reviewing in November. Add it to your TBR on Goodreads.
- The Death of Jane Lawrence by Caitlin Starling- Buddy Read with Ariel – Our discussion will be live on the 3rd of October. Find it on Goodreads.
- The Goddess of Nothing at all by Cat Rector – Buddy Read with Erynn – This was a beautifully written Norse mythology retelling from the point of view of an unknown goddess. Review will be up on the 4th as part of the blog tour hosted by Storytellers on Tour. Add it to your TBR on Goodreads if you love Norse Mythology.
- Contagion by Erin Bowman – Scifi Horror – This was a Horror for the month and you can check out the review here.
- Blackcoat by Steve McHugh – Futuristic Thriller – This is for another Storytellers on Tour event and review will be up next week on the 5th. Read more on Goodreads.
Tomorrow, I will be sharing my top picks for the year and as a sneak peak, at least 2 books from this month feature in it. Can you guess which ones? 🙂
Ariel’s Selection for September 2021
This month was a busy month, so I didn’t read as much. I’m hopeful my routine will stabilize, so I’m looking forward to more reading next month! I’ll be participating in Latinx-a-thon October 6-15 reading four books, and then a few buddy reads throughout the month as well as maintaining my Netgalley list! I’m very much looking forward to more fall evenings cozied up with a book; it’s my favorite time of year!
