Prompt: On TBR for more than 2 years
Book Name: The Cybernetic Tea Shop by Meredith Katz | Goodreads
Quick review: A quick cozy sci-fi novella that was a lot of fun! The premise set up the world quite nicely and the plot moved along quickly. In the cozy SFF era, most of the cozy books tend to be fantasy, so I’m glad I finally got around to reading this book!

Prompt: An audiobook/ebook
Book Name: Owner of a Lonely Heart: A Memoir by Beth Nguyen | Goodreads
Quick review: A beautiful exploration of the refugee identity as Beth grew into motherhood. The book goes into the many aspects of being a refugee to the US from Vietnam, assimilation, and changing family dynamics. Beth was separated from her mother during the move and the book explores how they found each other again and the evolution of their relationship as Beth grew older. So much to think about in this book! An enjoyable read as it is narrated by the author.

Prompt: A SciFi Novel
Book Name: The One Game: A YA Sci-Fi Adventure by Jennifer Lewy | Goodreads
Quick review: Jennifer Lewy’s The One Game is primarily told from the perspective of Rayne, a  talented seventeen-year-old Designer of Games. She creates virtual reality games that are based on historical events. Another perspective is that of Vennor, the lead Seer, or overseer of the Artificial Intelligence, NEWRRTH, coordinating any human interventions that may be required for proper functioning and watching out for threats as well as people disobeying the rules of the Game. When a virus threatens to change the AI forever, pandemonium ensues. The One Game has a fascinating premise and an action-packed approach that will likely appeal to fans of fast-paced YA sci-fi. It is a page turner and didn’t take me long to finish. However, if you are looking for solid world-building and character development, you may find it challenging.
