Literary News
The Carol Shields Prize for Fiction is the first major English-language literary prize to celebrate creativity and excellence in fiction by women and non-binary writers in Canada and the United States, awarding $150,000 USD to its winner, and $12,500 USD to each of its four finalists. In it’s second year, the shortlisted books are:
- Birnam Wood by Eleanor Catton
- Daughter by Claudia Dey
- Coleman Hill by Kim Coleman Foote
- Brotherless Night by V. V. Ganeshananthan
- A History of Burning by Janika Oza
Read more about them here. I am rooting for A History of Burning. Read the review here.
I discovered audiobooks on Spotify in April! With 15 hours of reading per month and an immense collection, the latest of the latest, I have been enjoying adding books to Clinton’s library. It’s a good option to pair with Audible if you already have both memberships. 🙂
Blogging
On the blog in April I featured three interviews as well as a guest post by Allison Alexander on 10 Fantasy Tropes which you should check out if you like Fantasy. 🙂
I also shared my strategies on reading more in the latest TBR Tales.
Of all the book reviews, I posted, check out:
- The book discussion with Ariel on The Surviving Sky.
- The cozy sci fantasy Moon Soul
- The paranormal domestic horror, The Devil And Mrs Davenport
- And of course, Strong Like Her
